Two New Airbus A350-900s of China Southern Airlines Have “Settled” in Shenzhen
January 10, 2022 - China Southern Airlines is pleased to announce that two new wide-bodied A350-900s have “settled" in Shenzhen officially joining the airline's Shenzhen Branch.
These two new aircraft are expected to be deployed on domestic trunk routes from Shenzhen to Beijing Daxing, Shanghai and Chengdu, which will significantly enhance passengers' in-flight experiences.
These new aircraft will contribute greatly to Shenzhen's efforts to develop a high-quality and innovation-oriented international aviation hub and build a pilot demonstration areas while serving the Belt and Road Initiative and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
They will also facilitate a new development pattern with domestic circulation as the mainstay and domestic and international circulations promoting each other.
Currently, China Southern operates a “pure” Airbus fleet in Shenzhen, which, with the addition of this new model, totals 59 aircraft including two A350s, 11 A330s, 32 A321s and 14 A320s.
The fleet is deployed on 69 domestic and international routes, with an average of about 130 daily flights. The proportion of flights departing from Shenzhen to airports with a handling capacity of up to 10 million passengers has increased to a substantial 85%.
As an air transport company headquartered in Guangdong Province, China Southern is the first carrier to set up a base in Shenzhen, a key strategic market.
In the face of unprecedented challenges brought about by COVID-19 to the aviation industry, China Southern continues to fulfill its political and social responsibilities as a state-owned enterprise and make every effort to develop its Guangzhou passenger and Guangzhou-Shenzhen cargo hubs.
As it steadily increases capacity input in the Shenzhen market, China Southern endeavors to promote the integration of "market, product, service and network" in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and serve the economic and social development of Guangdong Province.
