China Southern Airlines to Perform 110,000 Flights During the Upcoming 2022 Spring Festival Travel Season
January 17, 2022 - China Southern Airlines is pleased to announce that it is officially kicking off its 2022 Spring Festival travel season today.
China Southern will coordinate epidemic prevention and control with its Spring Festival transportation efforts as it delivers“human-oriented, digital, refined, personalized and convenient”services to realize“convenient air travel and seamless logistics”.
More than 11,000 additional flights offered for homecoming and tourism routes
During the 2022 Spring Festival travel season, China Southern is anticipating a relatively strong travel demand for returning home to visit relatives and for tourism purposes. In order to meet the travel demand, China Southern plans to increase its capacity with an additional 11,023 flights to popular destinations, including Sichuan, Hunan, Hubei and Hainan Provinces.
These additional flights will be focused from Guangdong and Shenzhen to Southwest and Central China, and from Northeast China to Hainan Province.
In addition, as the Beijing Olympic Winter Games approaches, China Southern will optimize routes to/from Beijing Daxing International Airport to ensure smooth travel experience for the passengers.
Delivering New Year goods direct to the dining table
As the Chinese Lunar New Year fast approaches, the air transport market for New Year goods continues to boom.
National and even global New Year goods are delivered to millions of dining tables via China Southern flights. A large quantity of fresh fish, fruits, snacks and other New Year goods are expected to transit via Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and shipped to other parts of the country.
In addition to the regular domestic branded New Year products, foreign fruits, seafood and other New Year goods are also popular, including imported (and perishable) flowers, lobsters, salmon and cherries which are only available via air cargo.
