China Southern’s CICPE-Themed Aircraft Contributes to the Construction of Hainan Free Trade Port

March 16, 2022 - China Southern Airlines’CICPE-themed aircraft was officially unveiled at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport on March 13 on the occasion of the 30-day countdown to the 2nd China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE). As the world's first aircraft with CICPE-themed livery, this aircraft successfully made its inaugural flight from Guangzhou to Haikou on the same day. 

China Southern, as the Designated Air Carrier of the CICPE, launched the CICPE-themed aircraft in cooperation with Hainan International Economic Development Bureau.

As the“air messenger”of the CICPE, the aircraft will appear at major cities around China, further enhancing the reputation and influence of the expo while promoting the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port and helping spread the brand image of Hainan's international tourism and China Southern's international development.

This CICPE-themed aircraft was jointly launched by China Southern Air Holding Company Limited and Hainan International Economic Development Bureau. An Airbus A321 aircraft in the China Southern fleet was selected to be painted with more than 70 colors throughout the fuselage. The entire painting process lasted 15 days.

With the theme of“Sharing Opening-up Opportunities and Creating a Better Life, the CICPE-themed aircraft combines Hainan's strategic layout for technological innovations, featuring“Seed Breeding, Deep Ocean, Aerospace”, presenting a new blueprint for Hainan's future development.

To reflect China Southern's“Affinity and Refinement”branded services, the inaugural flight presented COVID-19 prevention gift packages to all passengers onboard. The gift packages featured products of renowned New Zealand companies such as Comvita, Red Seal, ZOONO, Sunlife and MAUI, as part of a joint campaign initiated by Cbina Southern and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) at China's consumer market.

The CICPE-themed aircraft will also serve as a special“air messenger”for a series of publicity activities to contribute to the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port.
