China Southern Air Holding Company Limited Realizes Aviation Safety in 2022

     January 5, 2023 - The on-time arrival of China Southern Airlines' flight CZ3572 from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 20:58 on December 31, 2022 marked the realization of year-round aviation safety for China Southern Air Holding Company Limited in 2022.

The Company completed a total of 1.55 million flight hours throughout the year and is expected to safely transport 62 million passengers, maintaining the best safety record in China's civil aviation industry.

China Southern has been ranked among the top major Chinese airlines in terms of on-time flight performance for seven consecutive years and among the top domestic airlines in terms of various service indicators.

Implementing the national strategic plan and promoting positive interplay between domestic and international circulation

      China Southern has proactively served the new development pattern with domestic circulation as the mainstay and domestic and international circulations reinforcing each other.

In 2022, the Company opened 107 new domestic passenger routes such as the Urumqi-Tashkurgan and Guangzhou-Altay routes and resumed 25 international and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regional passenger routes including the Guangzhou-New York City and Guangzhou-London routes. With a diversified route network and offering safe and comfortable in-flight experience, China Southern is committed to aiding in China's efforts to build a powerful state of transportation .

 China Southern has made great efforts to help enterprises resume work and production and promote regional and global economic and trade exchanges.

In 2022, the Company transported more than 1.08 million tons of cargo to different parts of the world, contributing to China's high-standard opening up and global economic recovery.

Concurrently, the Company completed major transportation tasks during the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic by operating a total of 30 chartered flights and bringing more than 6,500 stranded personnel abroad back to China.

Pushing forward major strategic reforms and accelerating the development of a world-class enterprise

    China Southern has proactively accelerated the implementation of major strategies and key reforms and made positive progress in major strategies such as hub construction in Beijing, the enhancement of market controls in the Guangdong -Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, structural optimization in five major areas and the development of its own aviation ecosystem.

The Company also completed a three-year action plan for state-owned enterprise reforms and quickly moved to build itself into a world-class enterprise.

Improving service quality and growing popularity of the“Affinity and Refinement”service brand

China Southern follows the“Affinity and Refinement”service philosophy and launched special actions to improve on-time flight performance while providing “people-oriented, digital, refined, personalized and convenient”services. The quality of its“Affinity and Refinement”services was widely recognized by the public.

The Company successfully completed important transportation tasks to support the 20th CPC National Congress, the 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games, the China International Import Expo and the China International Consumer Products Expo.

It also launched an epidemic response policy inquiry platform and made significant upgrades to its “baggage delivery to home” and pet transport services. It continued to improve passengers’ travel experience by addressing pain points during their journey.

With its exceptional performance in customer services, China Southern earned its first SKYTRAX's “Best Airline in China”award and the “Best Airline Award” from the Civil Aviation Passenger Service Evaluation (CAPSE) for five consecutive years.

Shouldering its mission as a central SOE and fulfilling its Corporate Social Responsibilities

China Southern has proactively implemented a“Dual Carbon”strategy as it pursues“greendevelopment through the entire process of flight operations.

Beginning with energy conservation and carbon reduction for aircraft, reductions in ground energy consumption and“green”passenger travel, China Southern developed a“green”development business model that spans in-flight and ground operations, areas inside and outside airports, flight operation and management, and achieved a high-level of“green”development as a leading airline in China that meets world-class standards.

China Southern's On-Demand Dining Service has saved more than 7.27 million in-flight meals with cost savings of RMB106 million.

China Southern continues to promote“smart”civil aviation. It is the first airline in the industry to use blockchain and facial recognition technologies and to develop a paperless electronic signature system, which has been approved for extensive use in Central and Southern China.

Concurrently, the Company launched the first 5G private network in civil aviation maintenance in China and was the first airline in the world to launch the new way of“AR-based smart maintenance”to build a new business standard and promote the healthy and sustainable development ofsmartcivil aviation.
