August 7, 2023 - On July 28, the 15th China Corporate Social Responsibility Annual Conference was held by Southern Weekend in Guangzhou. China Southern was in the 84th place among Chinas top 100 enterprises in terms of corporate social responsibility, ranking the first in the industry. Its "Green Flight" on-demand meal project was also awarded as a 2023 Responsibility Case.

In 2019, China Southern was the worlds first airline to launch "Green Flight" on-demand meal services in response to the national call for ecological progress. By innovating products and service models, such as rewarding passengers with mileage, China Southern encourages passengers to put green development philosophies into practice and raise their awareness of environmental protection by having in-flight meals on demand. Passengers can choose milage reward instead of in-flight meals through the carriers app, WeChat account, customer service hotline, and other channels 6 hours before departure. By June 30, 2023, more than 9.66 million passengers had chosen the "Green Flight" services, saving more than 2,657 tons of food.

Starting in 2003, China Corporate Social Responsibility Survey was jointly initiated by Southern Weekend, All-China Federation of Trade Unions, All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and other institutions. It comprehensively studies and evaluates the social responsibility of Chinese enterprises based on scientific and objective materials such as information actively disclosed by enterprises, registration information from government departments, and data of third-party surveys. The survey covers more than 700 enterprises every year and has lasted for 20 years so far.
